The Master of Science in Quantitative Economics (MSQE) program at ISI is a flexible two-year, credit-based course with core subjects like Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, and Development Economics, along with diverse electives.
Application process for ISI MSQE Program

Apply through College Website : There is no central examination like the CUET PG for admission at ISI. It is the college (ISI Delhi and ISI Kolkata) website through which one can apply for the ISI MSQE Entrance Exam.

**Online Application: ** The application for the ISI MSQE program involves registering yourself at the official website, which includes the standard application procedure, document uploading, fees submission, etc.
Course Fees, Seats and Hostel Facility

Seats Available: A total of 56 [35-ISI Delhi, 21-ISI Kolkata] seats are available for the MSQE programme, distributed as 21 (GEN), 15 (OBC-NCL), 8 (SC), 4 (ST), 5 (EWS) and with 3 seats reserved for PwD.

** Course Fees:** The Institute does not levy any fees for this program. Instead, students are provided with a monthly stipend of ₹8000/-.

**Hostel Facilities & Financial Assistance: ** Hostel rent is ₹1,000 per month, plus ₹600 per month for electricity. Water, electricity, and food charges are additional, payable as per actuals. MSc students can apply for need-based scholarships as per institute norms.
Eligibilty

** Mathematics Requirement:** There is no specification about the Mathematics Requirement. Students who have completed 10+2 or above with or without mathematics can apply for ISI's MSQE Program.

** Qualifying Degree:** Students must have a bachelor’s degree of three or more years’ duration in any discipline.

** Provisional Admission: ** Admission is provisional until the submission of final official mark sheets of the qualifying degree.

** Admission:** Earlier, a personal interview was conducted for each student who had cleared the ISI Entrance Exam, but starting from the year 2025, there are no interviews being conducted. Meaning that you get your admission directly upon clearing the written exam.
ISI MSQE Entrance Exam Syllabus: What to Study?

** Microeconomics:** Consumer Behavior, Market Structures, General Equilibrium.

Macroeconomics: National Income, Monetary and Fiscal Policies, Growth Models.

** Mathematics and Statistics:** Calculus, Probability, Linear Algebra, Optimization Techniques.

ISI MSQE Paper Pattern & Marking Scheme

** Written Exam:** The written test is divided into two sections (2 hours each), PEA and PEB.

Question Paper Structure: PEA includes Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) related to Mathematics and Economics at the undergraduate level. On the other hand, PEB comprises Descriptive Questions in Mathematics and Economics.

** Marking Scheme: ** In PEA, correct answers earn +4 marks, while incorrect answers incur a -1 penalty. PEB, does not have negative marking.
