Admission & Application Process
Application process for SAU MA Economics
Apply through CUET-PG : There are 2 Modes of Entry into the Programme. First is the CUET PG Exam, through which 50% of the seats for the programme are to be filled. The second mode is the SAU admission test, through which the remaining 50% of the seats are filled. There is No Interview for both the Direct and the Admission Test modes of entry. Submit SAU Admission Form: After the CUET-PG and the Admission test results are announced, you are supposed to fill the admission form specifying your preferences.
Admission Process for SAU MA Economics
Application Form Submission: Register for CUET-PG or the SAT (SAU Admission Test) through the official NTA or SAU website and complete the application form. Entrance Exam: Appear for the CUET-PG or SAT exam on the scheduled date. No interview is required for admission. Final Merit List: After CUET-PG or SAT results, apply on the SAU portal and wait for the final merit list.

Mathematics Requirement: Applicants must have studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level or higher. Qualifying Degree: The candidate must have passed a B.A./B.Sc. degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% under the 10+2+4 pattern from any university recognised by the government of any SAARC country Provisional Admission: Admission is provisional until the submission of final official mark sheets of the qualifying degree. Course Fees, Seats and Hostel Facility
Seats Available: There are a total of 60 seats for the MA Economics programme at SAU. Out of these 60 seats, 50% i.e. 30 seats are designated for India, which are split into 15 seats for the SAU Entrance Test and 15 seats for Direct Mode (CUET PG). For other SAARC nations and additional countries, there are also 30 seats available, with 15 seats set aside for the Entrance Test and 15 seats for Direct Mode. Course Fees: The fee for SAARC students is $600 (approximately ₹54,600) per semester. Hostel Facilities & Financial Assistance: Hostel facilities are available for both the SAARC and non-SAARC students

Microeconomics: Consumer Behavior, Market Structures, General Equilibrium. Macroeconomics: National Income, Monetary and Fiscal Policies, Growth Models. Mathematics and Statistics: Calculus, Probability, Linear Algebra, Optimization Techniques. Note: Along with the CUET PG Economics syllabus, the syllabus for SAT almost also is same and revolves around the same economics topics as the CUET syllabus. SAU Paper Pattern & Marking Scheme
Exam Mode & Duration: Computer-Based Test (CBT) for 90 minutes, with bilingual questions (English/Hindi). Question Paper Structure: 75 compulsory MCQ-Based questions. Marking Scheme: +4 marks for correct answers, -1 mark for incorrect answers, and no marks for unanswered questions. Exam Mode & Duration: Computer-Based Test (CBT) for 120 minutes.
